These jaw plates can be used in the Metso C140 jaw crusher, and its service life is 2-4 times that of ordinary jaw plates in manganese steel.
In September 2023, Sunrise Machinery received an inquiry for jaw plate products from a Canadian customer. The user used the METSO C140 jaw crusher in the quarry. The local stone was very hard and the accessories were worn out very quickly. According to the local working conditions, Sunrise designed a jaw plate made of high manganese steel inlaid with high chromium cast iron for customers, which can greatly increase the service life and reduce the time and maintenance costs of customers to stop and replace parts.
This jaw plate makes the tail groove on the tooth surface of the high manganese steel casting base body and the high chromium cast iron inlay block into a trapezoidal body with a small top and a large bottom.
After pouring an appropriate amount of epoxy resin into the dovetail groove, put the high chromium cast iron inlaid block, and push the high chromium cast iron inlaid block to one side of the dovetail groove, using the wedge-shaped gap between the dovetail groove and the high chromium cast iron inlaid block to pull it, and the high chromium cast iron inlaid block and the remaining vacated space in the dovetail groove. The gap is filled with high manganese steel plugs, and finally welded firmly with high strength welding rods.
This design not only takes advantage of the high hardness and wear resistance of high chromium cast iron, but also combines the good toughness and weldability of high manganese steel. It is a good design for abrasive working condition.
Based on Sunrise's experience, it is expected that this type of jaw plate can extend the service life by more than 2-4 times that of ordinary high manganese steel, and will become a new development direction for wear-resistant parts of jaw crushers in the future.
At present, with the development of science and technology, the single matrix material of high manganese steel, which used to be the leading wear-resistant material, can no longer meet the dual requirements of hardness and impact toughness in use.
